Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About the SLC

The car is powered by a Chevrolet LT1 V8 equipped with a dry-sump oiling system. The engine was originally developed for the Corvette and is mounted behind the driver in the SLC.

The car weighs roughly 2500lbs.

It uses a gated six-speed Graziano transaxle. This transmission platform was used in the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo.

The Graziano is designed for a mid-engine drivetrain layout and provides the mechanical driving experience of a true gated manual transmission.

The SLC begins as a component vehicle, but completing one involves considerably more than simply assembling supplied parts. This car required extensive fabrication, plumbing, wiring, bodywork, fitting and custom finishing. If Interested, you can find out more details here – https://www.superlitecars.com/slc-kit

Final horsepower figures will be added after the car has completed its tuning and dyno testing.

The SLC kit starts at approximately $64,500, but that is only the beginning. You still need to purchase the engine, transmission, wiring harness, fuel system, cooling system and many of the other components required to complete the car. A finished build like this can easily cost more than $100,000 in parts and components alone, not including labor. You should also expect to invest more than 500 hours assembling, fitting, wiring, plumbing, troubleshooting and refining the vehicle before it is fully roadworthy. The final cost will vary significantly depending on the drivetrain, paint, interior, electronics and overall level of customization.
